red rabbit, green gorilla

Last month Becky's sister Annie and her fiance Matt came to visit us.  In the week prior to their arrival they got engaged and graduated college.  They then crossed the Atlantic for the first time and arrived in Africa.  It was a big time in their lives and we were so glad to be a part of it.  

 

We love being able to host visitors.  It's fun to be able to take people around to the main places one should visit as well as places one wouldn't see if they came here on their own.  In the first few days of their trip we took them to dinner at some of our favorite restaurants, we visited the new Anfa Place Mall right on the beach, had drinks at Sky Bar 28 overlooking the city, spent the afternoon at Tahiti Beach Club, visited Morocco Mall (the largest mall in Africa), not to mention having an amazing dinner at Blend Gourmet Burger where we were able to introduce Matt and Annie to some of our friends and co-workers.  

 

 

Annie and Matt also accompanied us to school where they spent the day with Becky and her class.  The students loved Mr. Matt and Ms. Annie and though Becky had planned an amazing 'camp-out' day for the students complete with tents and smores, they were definitely the highlight for the students.  The sing-along at the end of the day with Matt on guitar was a highlight - which included a class favorite "Red Rabbit, Green Gorilla."

 

Then it was time for us to send the kids off to Marrakech.  While there they took a three day trip out to the Sahara desert which came complete with unexpected, yet not uncommon, reactions to differently prepared food.  However, both Matt and Annie have attested to having had a great time in Marrakech.  We have to say that most of that probably stems from the owners of Riad Khabia who we have always felt are the most gracious and accomodating hosts.  

 

 Time passed by quickly and soon it was time for us to say good-bye.  We hope it was an amazing trip for them because we know it was a wonderful time for us.
